Susan G. Komen North & West Texas Scholar Series
Join us on Thursday, March 12 at the Prosperity Bank Annex (4827 4th Street, Lubbock, TX 79416) for our Spring 2020 installment of our Scholar Series. See our mission in action as we hear from breast cancer researcher, Dr. Kevin Roarty, and discuss the ways Komen North & West Texas is making a difference in the local fight against breast cancer.
About Dr. Roarty: Kevin Roarty, Ph.D., from Baylor College of Medicine, received $450,000 in late 2018 from Susan G. Komen to investigate a new potential target for the treatment of triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). Dr. Roarty will also identify how some TNBC subtypes are better at metastasizing (spreading beyond the breast) than others. The goal of his research is to identify new treatment options for patients diagnosed with this type of aggressive breast cancer.
